more details » Eastern Promises Join KINO 10 for an evening of short films with an East Asian theme. All the films either hail from China, Japan, or Korea or have these countries as a central theme within them. As always there's a real mix of films; music video, documentary, archive, drama, anime, and more. As if the films weren't enough, we'll even have some very special guests performing live: Lonesome Panther is a writer, performer, artist, comedian and storyteller. Tonight he'll be narrating an original narrative he's written to accompany a silent Japanese short film. Mute are a Birmingham-based musical ensemble. Tonight, two of their members will be performing an improvised score over a classic silent Japanese anime film. I may have said this before, but truly, this is one not to be missed. Doors open at 7:30pm (films start at 8pm) £4 entry.
