B.O.Y.D 5

First Fold label's Bring Out Your Dead* clubnight returns in it's fifth reincarnation, continuing a progressive roster that aims to incubate local talent and encourage collaboration through the comfy confines of the newly refurbished Bull's Head venue in Moseley Village, …Birmingham.

Here is what the night holds in store for you…

Act 1 /// Papa November ///

http://www.firstfoldrecords.com/the-artists/papa-november/

Stuart Tonge has been making electronic music fo' over 15 years and is the a paternal force for FirstFold records. The name Papa November comes from a now inactive short-wave numbers station, that featured a female voice repeating the words 'papa november' between blasts of discordant noise. Now Tonge's solo music moniker, as a vehicle, is developing into a House Band with rotational performers and drawing from his extensive back catalogue of multigenre releases. Nod your head, but please dont make eye contact.

ACT 2 /// Samekhmem ///

AAS group performing live under Samekhmem.

"There has always been and will always be Samekhmem.
Seek not to understand the birth of Samekhmem.
True comprehension of this is beyond regular thought.
Place your mind, instead, in the center of the universe and allow yourself to dwell in the infinite.
When you know Samekhmem, you will realise that you have always known Samekhmem.
This truth extends beyond all imaginable constraints.
You will know the eternal message of Samekhmem.
It has always been heard by you and you will always be part of it."

The short and snappy version is 'sacred channels of the eternal drone'. Expect entrancing audio and physical space!

ACT 3 /// ARC VEL ///

More info here: http://www.arcvel.co.uk/music/

Paul Wood performs through live instrumentation and a mixture of both analog and digital interfaces. The meandering and rich music is complimented with visuals that he himself produces. Arc Vel's explorative electronica is touched by elements of hip hop, world, post rock and dub music. An inherent warmth through intuition fills his sound, realised by subtle use of field recordings, live guitar work and rhythmical intricacies. He released his debut ep 'Lin' in 2008 with the majority of profits going towards children's charity Kidscape. Recently, after some time away working on live shows supporting the likes of Baths, Tenniscoats and Martin Creed, Arc Vel released his 'Hippocampus e.p.' via Manchester's Leverage records.

We at FirstFold are proud to work with him again!

…Aaaand, on top of all of this we have the regular 'Hellocatfood' on visuals and 'Quite Good Dj's' on the ol' decks (hit shuffle and do the shoeshuffle). . . presenting the hodge-bodge patchwork of poetic performativity that is Bring Out your Dead.

* IF YOU ACTUALLY BRING OUT YOUR DAD, THEY CAN GET IN FOR £2 instead of £3.
